Hearts are overflowing with thanks to all who contributed money, goodies, and time in preparing and mailing our 30 college, 22 stateside military and 1 overseas military Valentine Care Packages, the 28th year the Atlanta Christian Church has undertaken this project.
The packages were filled to the max with treats and a variety of homemade cookies. The packages averaged 5 ½ pounds, and the overseas package was over 8 pounds. Your generosity made these 53 awesome packages possible, providing love-filled blessings to the recipients. A very special thank you to the Junior Church Kids and Jr/Sr High Youth Groups for the unique hand-painted coasters, to Gresham-Crutchley American Legion Post #341 for paying the postage for the overseas military package, as well as, treats for all military packages, and to St. Mary’s Catholic Parish for their monetary participation. St. Mary’s has been partnering with us since 2014. They provide us with names of their military personnel, as well as, funds to pay postage and assist with treats.
A big round of applause for the packing team: Linda Brooks, Shelley Buettner, Becky Brandt, Carol Estes, Beth Ann Polley, Alice Robison, Cindy Sears, Melissa Smith, Don Steiling, John Swearingen & Dr. Val N. Tine. The outreach touched many lives in California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and onboard a Navy ship in the Pacific.
