Suspects in Murder Plot Appear in Court

MACKINAW – Three of the four suspects accused in a murder for hire plot to kill a local couple have appeared in court on Wednesday, November 10th. Sage Raueber 19, and Nathaniel Maloney 18, appeared in court virtually; while Andre Street 17, who will be tried as an adult, appeared in person. The three, along with an unnamed 15-year-old female, are being held for their roles in the October shootings of Rebecca and Douglas Bolin. Rebecca was killed while Douglas was left in critical condition.

The three named suspects are expected to be formally charged with first degree murder and first-degree attempted murder. However, the state's prosecution team asked the judge for more time to review the findings of the Grand Jury. The state also intends to conduct forensic testing of the guns alleged to have been used in the shootings, while the defense asked that any testing be videotaped and monitored by a professional to avoid any possible mistakes.

Judge Paul Gilfillan decided that the court will review evidence on December 22nd and decide how to proceed.

The next arraignment date for Raueber, Maloney, and Street is Wednesday November 24th at 2:00 P.M.
